A puddle Flange is designed with the goal of preventing leaks around piping systems. Generally, leaks are able to penetrate poured concrete walls, shafts, floors, tanks, manholes, pools, and structures. A flexible gasket is installed, where a watertight seal is required in the course of construction on the outside diameter of the pipe. The unique flexible design of the Dn 125 Puddle Flange bonds to concrete and is further compressed during the pour and curing process. Thus the Carbon Steel Puddle Flange provides a leak-proof seal against water and gas in not only domestic applications but also commercial developments. Installed on the external pipe surface, the Stainless Steel Puddle Flange acts as a barrier. These flanges have the ability to diffuse gases and hydrocarbons.

Hence, the ASME B16.5 Puddle Flange is well suited for use across all conventional piping materials. For instance, the materials such as steel, clay, concrete, plastic, and cast iron are used to manufacture pipes from DN 20 to DN 3200 mm. Since these flanges are able to perform well in conjunction with the above mentioned materials, Puddle Flange manufacturers recommend these flanges for being a perfect solution for a leak-proof application. For instance, these flanges are often installed on pipes during construction, particularly in those areas where water penetration has to be prevented. Moreover, a puddle flange exhibits its suitability for use with all smooth walled pipes. Although it must be noted that the surface of these pipes, at the time of installation, needs to be clean, smooth as well as free of pores or surface imperfections.
