The primary constituents of Hastelloy C276 or as simply known as WNR 2.4819 Socket Weld Fittings include Nickel, chromium and molybdenum. This high performance wrought material is considered to be one of the most versatile corrosion resistant alloys available. The content of carbon in the alloy is very low. Which is why, the Hastelloy C276 Forged Fittings is resistant to the formation of grain boundary precipitates, which generally occurs during welding in the weld heat-affected zone. Hence, these ASTM B564 specified Hastelloy Forged Fittings are well suited to be used most chemical process applications in an as-welded condition. Apart from having excellent resistance to pitting, the C276 Hastelloy Full Coupling exhibits resistance to stress related corrosion cracking.

Moreover, unlike some conventional austenitic stainless steel alloys, grade C276 can be used in oxidizing atmospheres, where the temperatures can exceed 1900°F. The ASTM B564 UNS N10276 Threaded Elbow has exceptional resistance to a wide variety of chemical environments, including highly flammable chemicals. Although this alloy has good weldability, in instances where a connection is required in environments that have highly flammable compounds, threaded fasteners save the day. Since there are pre-existing threads in them, they provide an easy and speedy solution for connecting a piping system. In the case of an Alloy C276 Threaded Union, the fitting designed with the intention of future dismantling, making it easy for the worker to clean, change or modify the pipe system.
