Hastelloy X Flanges
Hastelloy X is also referred to by its trade names – INCONEL Alloy X or UNS N06002. This wrought nickel based alloy is used to make heat resistant flanges. A highlight of these flanges is that they exhibit excellent strength at high temperature as well as have good resistance to oxidation. The high content of chromium in the alloy aids in resistance against oxidation corrosion, whereas the higher content of nickel used to manufacture the Alloy X Blind Flange in accordance with ASTM B564 specification results in the alloy inheriting its heat resistance properties. All of the product forms, including the Hastelloy X Flanges, are excellent in terms of forming and welding. Although Alloy X is primarily known for its ability to resist both heat and oxidation, these flanges also have good resistance to chloride stress related corrosion cracking. Its corrosion resistance to SCC would mean that these ASTM B564 UNS N06002 Flanges are a well valued asset in the petrochemical industry, as the alloys that are a part of this sector need to have a mix of high mechanical strength and corrosion resistance property.

In addition to demonstrating has good resistance to carburization, the WNR 2.4665 Threaded Flanges also has excellent resistance to reducing atmospheres. Amongst all the nickel based alloy grades, Hastelloy X flanges are one of the most widely used superalloys as a part of gas turbine engine components. X Hastelloy Slip On Flange is recommended for use in applications involving industrial furnace since the alloy has an unusually high resistance to oxidizing, reducing and neutral atmospheres.
